Cetacea Sound Inc. donates Wireless System to the Ronald McDonald House-Memphis
Cetacea Sound Inc's President, John Fleskes, came up with a multi-year plan to donate some of their ERMA Systems wireless network kits each year until the entire Ronald McDonald House-Memphis complex was unwired. The system will allow free access 24/7 to the guest families and the house staff. The survey and design phase were handled by Clark Hinds, (Cetacea's Chief Engineer) and Fleskes and was modeled around parameters set by Rozell Henderson of GHT,LLC. (house IT manager). Rozell and Fleskes worked with the staff there and talked with the families to get their input.
When we began compiling the equipment for the first phase, word got out of our plan "things kind of took off" said Fleskes. Now barely 10 months after efforts began and with the help of a few business friends, the system is complete and the entire facility is active. Installation was performed by Dwayne Cross, Stanley Blount (both Cetacea technicians) under the strict supervision of Clark Hinds.
We used just 10 of our ERMA Systems CET5100-TNCRP-5 extended range antenna panels with the latest Proxim Orinoco AP-700 b/g access points. The security and traffic are handled by a BlueSocket WG400 gateway.
Our hopes are that this configuration and working model stand as a mold by which other Ronald McDonald Houses worldwide may use to bring this service to all guest families.
