Bluesocket
Bluesocket is a leader in open, secure, software-based enterprise mobility solutions
Here at Bluesocket we are firm believers in the power of the mobile workforce. Our users are increasingly accessing and even demanding secure wireless access at their work, home and education environments. We are excited to be in this field and are passionate about working with our customers worldwide to provide them with leading technologies that enhance their productivity with best in class total cost of ownership. We were founded in 1999 and are backed by leading venture firms such as: Menlo Ventures, Vesbridge Partners (formerly St Paul Venture Capital), Intel Capital, and Ascent Venture Partners.
Thousands of devices are being Wi-Fi™ enabled to support applications that increase productivity. The proliferation of Wi-Fi devices from iPhones, Blackberries, infusion pumps, wireless video cameras and many other items along with applications such as location based services, guest access, managed services are driving more and more customers to adopt a secure wireless environment. With Bluesocket’s Secure Mobility® and vWLANTM solutions, customers can implement the most secure, scalable and cost effective solution in the market.
We pride ourselves on leading the industry in many areas of innovation. Since our company was founded in 1999, we have continuously pushed the innovation technology curve. We were the first company to introduce a product to secure nascent 802.11 deployments. We were the first to introduce a corporate guest access application for 802.11 WLANs. Both of these set the stage for Bluesocket to lead the market in ensuring that our customers’ wireless environments are as or more secure than the Ethernet (or cabled) environments. Now we are also leading the way with the most scalable WLAN solution in the market with our vWLAN.
Listening to our customers and partnering with our customers in our research and development activities have led to many features and functions being developed by our engineering team. We were the first to introduce a MIMO based access point to help our customers achieve better coverage. We started the company because we wanted to provide the best secure mobility solutions after listening closely to how customers wanted to increasingly deploy WLAN as the primary means of connectivity. As such, we continue to drive new security elements into our Secure Mobility solutions.
Our company and employees are leading efforts to ensure that we provide our customers with products that support sustainability efforts: theirs and ours. Bluesocket’s vWLAN energy efficient configuration reduces customers’ carbon emissions in two ways. First, vWLAN reduces hardware requirements up to 80%, thereby eliminating the energy required to produce, ship, store, maintain and dispose of that hardware. Second, fewer controllers and APs reduce the amount of electricity required to operate the vWLAN. Since electricity generation is one of the largest producers of CO2, the vWLAN can be a strong contributor to a company’s sustainability initiatives with the reduction of a company’s CO2 footprint.
